You have to maintain your blog and keep it current or else. When you post often, there are many good things such as returning traffic and longer stay times, etc. Look at your content in terms of the quality of value it offers, and a low value blog will not survive. Perhaps mix up your posts and avoid sticking to one predictable format and length, etc. How you promote your blog is up to you, and be advised that some methods are better than others. Do not get in the habit of checking your traffic stats a dozen times a day and just do the work to promote it.
