Number 1 Rule To Auto Dealership Blogs

By Keith Lake

It's true that certain groups of people tend to enjoy certain cars more than others. One of the things you should avoid is calling your customers "Old" in a blog posts especially if you know most of your customers are a little older. It seems like common sense, but it occasionally does happen, and when it does, people actively complain about it. Complaints, of course, are never good for business.

Even though there are things to watch out for, you still need to be as honest as possible on your site. One thing you should not do is say that you are selling cars that all the younger people want if you know that is not the truth. One thing you should never tell a customer is that the gadgets are the best one the car especially if you already know that your customer wants gadgets as opposed to outside style. They won't only feel like you are lying to them if you do choose to do this - they will feel patronized.

Don't do this or you should just shut down your blog!

If you are going to talk about your customers, then make sure that you talk about them in a way they feel honored as opposed to insulted. For instance, say "thrifty" instead of "frugal" or worse, "miserly". Do you have older clients, if so make sure you call them "Experienced" or "Young at heart". If you can't come up with a nice way to say something, then just don't say anything at all and avoid that conversation altogether.

Something you should do is make people feel a sense of empowerment by reading your blog and buying a car from you. You have to show your potential clients that you hold them in high esteem. Showing them that you don't value them as customers is a good way to lose business before they even walk in the door.

Not sure whether the articles that you are posting to your blog are actually customer-friendly? Well, the easiest way to check whether or not the blogs are actually written in a friendly tone is to read them yourself and put yourself in the customers' shoes. If you feel talked down to or insulted reading your own article, then chances are that other people will too.

Tone is crucial when it comes to making sure that you don't upset customers. If you are trying to sell a car or educate your readers through the blog, then it is imperative that you get rid of the essay paper style writing and stick to pure facts and easy to understand language. As a blogger you need to use easy to understand words, a friendly voice and most importantly the feel that you actually careyou're your readers.

The bottom line here is that you simply cannot run the risk of upsetting or insulting the very people who are reading your blog. If all you seem to do is insult people, then it would be beneficial to stop blogging right away or just detach the blog from your actual dealership.
